Cindy, You sell yourself short by limiting the conversation to young, predominately female students. You have also inspired old white male journalists to get past their "suck factor," fear of new media technology. The point, as I see it is, that to fully adapt to and use these powerful media for jounalism we need to have trained people in both journalism and new media technology. Texas State University and Cindy in particular are training the next generation of new media journalists and re-training some old media dinosaurs to bring good storytelling back to the feild of mass communication. "Citizen Journalism" is fine, but it should never replace Professional Journalism, particularly on media with such far reaching potential. I aplaud pioneer organizations like The New York Times and Pilhofer, that have adopted all of the power of new media to tell compelling stories that are creative AND professionally (journalistically) sound.

Great moment. It really takes an exciting, and comfortable education place for students to be able to shout out they "can do anything." Better than pay for an educator, too.
