Gillmor launches grassroots journalism project

Former San Jose Mercury News columnist and blog pioneer Dan Gillmor has launched his much-anticipated grassroots journalism project, Bayosphere. On the new site, "we will reflect -- and reflect on -- the news, needs and ideas of the San Francisco Bay Area and especially the technology sphere that is the prime economic driver of the area," Gillmor writes.

Gillmor has also moved his popular personal blog to the site, where the new URL is http://bayosphere.com/blog/dangillmor.
