Next Thursday, June 28 from 9-10:30 pm, PBS will broadcast a forum featuring all eight Democratic presidential candidates answering questions from a panel of journalists (Michel Martin from NPR, syndicated columnist Ruben Navarette, De Wayne Wickham from USA Today.) The forum will be held at Howard University, and will be moderated by Tavis Smiley.
The candidates' forum is an outgrowth of the Covenant With Black America initiative. (More on that and the genesis of the forum here ) A forum for Republican candidates will be held September 27.
PBS will allow a limited number of bloggers into the June 28 event. The Media Bloggers Association is processing requests for credentials. If you're interested, the deadline is Friday, noon. This has more details.
The feed from the credentialed bloggers will run on the MediaBloggers.org site, and AmericaBlog will be running blog conversations in all 50 states, according to this
press release
I am a member of the Media Bloggers' Association, and as some of you may remember, I covered the Scooter Libby trial under its auspices, so I can answer some questions about this process.
