Publish2: Capturing the power of the link

MEMBER PROFILE
Homepage: http://citizenjournalists.blog.com
I am a freelance journalist/photojournalist. I maintain a couple of blogsites, primarily the one at http://citizenjournalists.blog.us, in hopes of providing a forum for anyone who has something to say that will somehow make someone else sit up and take notice. The blog isn't intended to be a profit-making entity; its only goal is to be "heard."
I believe freedom of the press is by far the most effective way we can hold accountable our government and governing entities, our corporate denizens and civic organizations, ourselves. We cannot learn from our mistakes, and prevent them in the future, unless we share with them with the world at large.
I believe today's media, though, in large part has abandoned its duties as a reporter and watchdog. Its regress toward entertainmen, and dissemination of bare-bones information in the interest of profit, is disheartening and, in many ways, frightening.
