In the past year, I've worked with Knight Ridder Digital and American Lawyer Media's Law.com to launch bloggers alongside traditional media coverage. A blogger myself, I write "Legal Blog Watch" daily for Law.com. I also blogged the 2004 Democratic National Convention for the Los Angeles Times, which led to me to begin my personal blog, "Surfette". I've been busy with other writing too, publishing articles in The New York Times (style), blogging for Jay Rosen's Pressthink (journalism) and writing reviews for Publisher's Weekly (fiction), among other projects.
I began to blog and freelance following my (blessed) year at the Nieman Foundation for Journalism at Harvard University in 2002, where I was the first Internet journalist awarded a fellowship.
