Somali journalist under threat and media transgression is still continuing

The Somali Journalist Rights Agency (SOJRA) is to day condemning the continuing of Somali media infringements from the Islamist groups who are still influences of the political power of the country.

Mohamed Ali Nuxurkey is one of Somali prominent journalists currently working in the capital Mogadishu in the course of difficult conditions on freedom of expression greater than conflicting policies in Somalia.

The journalist is now working a newly independent radio described DANAN radio based in Mogadishu ( http://www.danannews.com/ ) together with being an editor for an English version for a Committee of the United Exiled Somali Journalists www.wariyaha.com he also worked as a reporter at Horn-Afrik radion station in Mogadishu in 2007.

As he was speaking on the phone from some where in Mogadishu to SOJRA Office he mentioned having such a great worry about his life in the country even not able to put him self at this time in a safe place which is outside Mogadishu.

The journalist has again received a death treat message from “unknown” number in Mogadishu on Saturday night calling to suspend from all its activity in the media fields or being killed as a result of this work.

For the moment the Somali Journalist Rights Agency (SOJRA) is called international and local media organization to make sure the safety of this journalist.
