I am a freelance journalist and I tell stories about the intersection of the environment with policy, science and social, political, economic and technological forces. I am also a graduate of the Master's in Specialized Journalism program at the Annenberg School. I focused on science writing and my studies emphasized environmental science and policy, global civil society and sustainable cities, as well as transportation policy in Los Angeles County.
A former editor of the Ventura County Reporter and staff writer at the Pacific Coast Business Times, I'm currently based in Portland, OR. Here I co-founded the Oregon News Incubator, which is being developed into a shared physical and virtual space for freelance journalists to work, exchange ideas and share resources.
