As from Fall 2005, I am assistant professor at Indiana University’s Department of Telecommunications, after working as a visiting professor at IU's Department of Communication and Culture and School for Journalism during the 2004-2005 academic year. I hold a BA in Journalism from the Tilburg School for Journalism, The Netherlands, an MPhil in History and Communication Studies from the University of Johannesburg, South Africa, and received a PhD in the Social Sciences in March 2002 from the University of Amsterdam, The Netherlands. From 2002 to 2003, I was a Fulbright scholar at the University of Southern California’s Annenberg School for Communication. My research focuses on the changing nature of media work in the context of globalization and convergence.
