I made my way to Santa Fe after selling a subscription newsletter on the arcane field of technology transfer, or the commercialization of inventions arising out of university or other non-profit research. (If you think the mismatch between newspapers and the Web is a problem, try the one between academe and business. And when the gap is bridged, the results aren't always pretty, for either side.)
I've also had careers in book publishing and cable television entertainment. Okay, specifically, I was in on the launch of MTV...
