I think this shows the degree that people are moving towards new media, and it can only be a good thing. Gone are the days where people accept spoon fed news, the global connectivity achievable by anyone through twitter/facebook/et al these days allows cutting edge news delivery whether the commercial media wish to cover it or not, the truth will get out one way or another and this is the way it should be.

I for one welcome our social media overlords!

This shows that twitter somehow is creating both a political and informational revolutions. Like a floating democracy or real-time referendum machine. Its rising power will force governments and the media to listen. Here we see that CNN must have a secret agenda not to display this time of scandalous information.

Robert,
Greetings from the UK. I think we have learnt similar lessons over here. I am so bored of the CNNFail mentality but I love the idea of people holding media to account. We should stop worrying about Twitter versus Old Media and concentrate on the joys of Networked Journalism.
I have had a crack at the same issues here
http://is.gd/15i3e
and here

best wishes

A month ago people still didn't believe that Facebook and Twitter were respectable, but now that it's letting the world know what's happening from within the country, even CNN is live-reporting what people are saying on Twitter.

Kinda funny really, like watching your parents try to skateboard.
